Dobbyn & McCoy has been in existence for over 200 years, in fact, it was originally known as Dobbyn Tandy & McCoy. The name plate is still outside the front door of the offices. The name Tandy invokes that of Napper Tandy and indeed the office does have a connection to Napper Tandy.
James Napper Tandy was born in the year 1739. He was a political figure and prominent in his time. He sought to highlight such issues as to corruption and sought to promote Irish business and commerce. He was a member of the Dublin Volunteers. He was a very colourful individual who led a life high in drama and at all times sought to promote the interests of his country.
